IS ASIAN PLAYBOY (APB) THE REAL DEAL, OR JUST ANOTHER SCAM?
Over the past several years, a lot has been said about an unusual player in the world of underground pickup artists who calls himself JT the Asian Playboy. He has allegedly taught thousands of men around the world and has a team of who conduct pickup bootcamps year-round. The group, called the ABCs of Attraction, claims to have an unusually high success rate, particularly teaching minorities or men of Asian descent how to date women of other races.
We’ve heard this claim before and it always seems too good to be true, so we set out to see if Asian Playboy’s credentials are legitimate.
Since Neil Strauss released the bestseller “The Game” in 2005 – a missive that set a new standard for methods of dating and seducing women – hundreds of alleged dating experts have jumped on the bandwagon. Web sites have sprung up across the globe with both men and women claiming to be able to give guys the competitive edge when it comes to dating. Among one of the first to appear on the scene was a 5’5” Vietnamese man from Texas who came to be known as the Asian Playboy or APB.
Who is APB?
Jerry “JT” Tran, a former Aerospace engineer, apparently got bitten by the pickup bug in 2004, after getting fed up being unsuccessful with women. He took his first pickup bootcamp in 2005 with the famous celebrity dating instructor Mystery. During that time Tran practiced meeting women alongside other now-famous pickup artists like Matador and Mehow.
Unlike many other dating coaches, Tran prided himself on being an “ugly” pickup artist, and made it a habit to go out with guys better looking than him so that he could advance. Like a true engineer, he meticulously picked apart the art of attraction and discovered a way to make dating easier for guys that looked like him. As he stormed through nightclubs around the world, people took notice.
Becoming an Instructor and the Asian Men’s Movement
As he began to build a reputation as the one Asian guy that almost no one could beat when picking up women in a nightclub, Tran quickly developed a following of Asian men who were tired of being cast into a non-sexual stereotype. Before he knew it, guys were lining up at the door to learn from him.
In order to cope with the demand, he created the now-famous blog originally at theasianplayboy.blogspot.com and founded a company called the ABC’s of Attraction. While training hundreds of men, APB’s accolades grew, and he was named BEST ASIAN PICKUP ARTIST from the world-famous PUA Summit four years in a row. He was also recently named as one of the world’s TOP 10 GREATEST pickup artists on THUNDERCAT’S LAIR – the definitive list for people involved in the dating and pickup circuits.
Real Deal?
It’s hard to know whether to believe someone when they say they are good with women. And it’s even harder to believe that they can teach these skills to other people. With so many charlatans out there, a guy has to be careful if he chooses to spend his money on a “pickup bootcamp”. After all, they aren’t cheap.
We added this blog post to help you decide whether or not to take a bootcamp with the Asian Playboy.
From what we have heard, his company has really taken off in the past two years, due to several important factors.
After taking a close look at these factors, it appears that Asian Playboy and the ABCs of Attraction are the real deal and worthy of a closer look. The company seems to be on its way to the top, and Asian Playboy has recently been featured on major news programs across the United States. He has contributed dating advice to multiple publications and has been profiled in dozens of magazines.
For anyone interested, we have listed the company’s information here.
